How to evaluate products before you buy

A good marketplace listing should help you identify the exact product, understand who is selling it, compare the commercial terms and know which facts still need confirmation. RunnerZ uses visible product facts instead of filling missing technical information with guesses.

1. Confirm product identity

Check the product name, SKU/code, model, size, pack or capacity when those details matter. Similar-looking products can have different specifications.

2. Check the seller

Use the seller catalogue and published contact details to understand who is offering the product. Ask the seller to confirm information that is not visible on the listing.

3. Read price and stock together

Check whether a price includes VAT, whether stock is seller-reported or needs confirmation, and when the listing was last updated.

What a strong product page should answer

Identity and fit

What exactly is the item? Which model, size, capacity, material, strength or configuration is being offered? Who is it intended for?

Specifications

Important dimensions, ratings, materials, pack quantities or compatibility should be stated as structured facts when they are known and verified.

Commercial information

Price basis, VAT, availability, lead time, delivery expectations and minimum order should be clear where relevant.

Evidence

For technical or regulated claims, buyers should be able to ask for the applicable manufacturer datasheet, manual, label or regulatory evidence.

Questions worth asking the seller

Is this the exact product shown?

A product image should represent the listed item. If appearance, model or packaging matters, confirm that the photograph is of the exact item being supplied.

What is included in the price?

Confirm VAT basis, pack quantity, delivery and any setup or service charges that are not explicitly included.

Which specification controls the choice?

For fit-dependent products, identify the measurement, rating, size, connector, capacity or other parameter that determines compatibility.

Is a compliance claim documented?

Do not rely on a badge or generic statement alone. Ask for the relevant document and verify that it applies to the exact product or model.

For sellers: make your listing easier to find and trust

Use the exact product name, a useful SKU/code, a real product image and a description that answers the buyer's real decision questions. Add verified facts rather than keyword filler. Complete seller contact details so buyers and search systems can connect the listing to a real business.
